As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and highly organized Virtual Assistant – Background Check Specialist to join our remote team. Position Overview: The Virtual Assistant – Background Check Specialist will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our sitter network by performing live, real-time background checks on all sitter applicants and existing sitters. This position requires strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a firm understanding of compliance best practices. Your work will ensure our sitters continuously meet SitterHub’s safety standards and policy requirements. Key Responsibilities: Conduct live background checks on prospective and active sitters through our approved tools and platforms. Verify sitter information in real-time, including identity verification, criminal background screening, and relevant certifications. Monitor and audit sitter profiles to ensure ongoing compliance with SitterHub’s policies and industry regulations. Maintain accurate and confidential records of all verification activities. Communicate professionally with sitters to request missing information or clarify discrepancies. Work closely with our compliance and operations teams to flag any issues or concerns. Stay up to date with legal requirements and best practices in background screening and childcare industry standards. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Virtual Assistant, Compliance Specialist, or Background Check Coordinator. Strong knowledge of background screening processes, platforms, and legal guidelines. High level of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines. Tech-savvy with proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and online screening platforms. Familiarity with childcare industry standards is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in HR, legal compliance, recruitment, or risk management. Familiarity with platforms like Checkr, GoodHire, Sterling, etc. Understanding of U.S. childcare regulations and industry-specific compliance requirements.
